Workshop - Decoupage Saturday 14th June 12.45pm to 3.45 pm

Are you ready to learn how to decoupage or master your developing skills?  Then this decoupage workshop is for you.

Join us in Mount Evelyn VIC to learn decoupage skills with different mediums. 

Decoupage involves "cutting" out pictures or shapes from paper, "gluing" them to an object and then coating the pictures and the object with layers of "varnish".   Sounds simple enough, but there are many options to your creative decoupage pursuits.  And tips to prevent wrinkles and bubbles.

We will explore the different decoupage mediums and their applications.  (Decoupage does not only involve glue and paper.  In fact, sometimes traditional glue is not used at all)   We may use serviettes, wallpaper, tissue paper, textured decoupage designs, fabric and more.   

Decoupage techniques can be applied to multiple surface types including, furniture, wood, ceramics, glass and more.  It’s a wonderful way to express your creativity and in time, create beautiful pieces of art.

Elaine will walk you through each step, from prepping surfaces to mastering different techniques. No prior experience necessary – just bring your enthusiasm!

At the end of this workshop, you will have learned the following techniques which all transfer to preparing and painting furniture and decor:

• Application
• Distressing/Antiquing
• Blending joins
• Sealing
• Finishing

Workshop runs from 12.45pm to 3.45pm.  We ask that you arrive at 12.30pm to ensure we can start promptly at 12.45pm.  At the end of your visit you will take away from this workshop a new set of skills as well as a completed decoupaged project - designed and made by you.

Aprons will be provided for the workshop but make sure you wear your most comfortable painting clothes; come along ready to have fun.

No need to bring anything, we'll have everything you need.

Price includes: 3 hour workshop, materials to use on the day, mentorship, afternoon tea and drinks, a goodie bag to the value of $20.

Cancellation Policy:  As you can appreciate there are a number of costs associated with running an event like this in a hired space.  Therefore, we require 5 days notice for any cancellations, otherwise there will be a 50% cancellation fee.
